Cartara Productions introduces the first “got kizomba!” festival for the San Francisco Bay Area, featuring national and international Kizomba and Semba artists, and more. Unlike other festivals where Kizomba and Semba are an afterthought, and where you have to wade through dozens of short, disconnected workshops, this festival will be smaller and more intimate. This will allow you to really IMMERSE yourself in the artists. The artists for our first festival will be
  • Master Petchu (Angola/Portugal) for his FIRST trip to the US
  • Oscar B.A. (Washington, DC) North America’s ambassador of Kizomba
  • Sara Lopez, one-half of the world famous Kizomba duo Albir & Sara.

We will also have performances by Master Petchu and Sara, as well as DJ’ing by Oscar B.A., Bay Area favorite Antonio Chavez, and others.

Please note that Thursday and Friday-night activities will occur at mOOv Studios, 1924 Franklin St, Oakland (1-block from BART).

Only dancers with previous Kizomba Improver/Advanced Beginner experience will be allowed to take the Semba Sunday courses. If you need preparation, contact us about our classes and/or private lessons.
